2 1/4 teaspoons yeast
2 3/4 cup warm water
1/2 cup brown sugar
3 teaspoons salt
1/4 cup butter
3 cups whole wheat flour
5 cups white wheat flour
Soften yeast in water.
Add sugar, butter, and salt.
Stir in whole wheat flour and 1 cup of white wheat and mix well.
Add enough of the rest of the flour to make a moderately stiff dough.
Knead on a floured surface for 10-12 minutes.
Let rise in a warm place for 1 1/2 hours, then punch down.
Cut in tow and let rest for 10 minutes.
Put in bread pans and let rise for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Bake at 375 for 45 minutes.
